Single-day recoveries exceed new COVID-19 cases in Russia
While 4,921 Russians tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Russia, the number of recoveries has exceeded 6,000 people.
Overall, the country has reported 951,897 COVID-19 cases in its 85 regions and 16,310 deaths. Over 767,000 patients coped with the disease. Today 168,110 people in Russia are ill with COVID-19.
Russia is the world's fourth for the number of cases. The United States is leading, having confirmed 5,600,000 infections, Brazil is second with 3,500,000 patients, and India is third with 2,900,000 affected. The global tally has reached 22,900,000 since the onset of the pandemic.
NEWS.ru reported earlier that head of the World Food Program (WFP) David Beasley said the risk of famine due to the coronavirus pandemic might reach 'biblical proportions.'
